Membership

As an annual member, you support our year-round work and community-oriented mission on island. Every year you are an active member, we will send you a membership decal and our Summer Excursion Calendar with our full list of guided walks, experiences, and events on the Foundation’s properties. But most importantly, you will share in the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped to ensure that Nantucket’s open spaces and natural habitats will be preserved – forever. Family memberships begin at just $50.

The Colleagues of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation was founded in 1990 to acknowledge those individuals who have demonstrated, through their regular and substantial annual support, a deep commitment to the Foundation’s work. Privileges of Colleague level membership include invitations to special guided events to explore our properties and expand their knowledge about the natural resources they are helping to protect. 

Participation in the Colleagues is open to those who contribute $1,000 or more based on their total giving within a single fiscal year (January 1 - December 31). To become a Colleague level member or to renew your Colleague membership, please click here.

Milestone Partners are important members of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation and are considered a vital part of the Foundation’s base of support. An unrestricted pledge of $50,000 or more over the course of 5 years qualifies donors as Milestone Partners.

Milestone Partners have a strong understanding and sense of ownership for the work of the Foundation.  A special appreciation event is held on-island every summer, they are invited to meet with the Foundation Board of Trustee at their winter meeting in January, receive advance notice of special events, and are eligible for personalized, small group tours of Foundation properties.

Supporters of the Trails Fund are those members of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, who by their generous, unrestricted annual giving support the design, creation, and maintenance of more than 45 miles of mountain biking, walking, running, and birding trails, as well as more than 50 miles of sand roads that traverse Foundation properties. A five-year pledge of up to $25,000 or more qualifies donors as members of the Trails Fund.

Supporters of the Water Fund are those members of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, who by their generous, unrestricted annual giving support our work improving the water quality of Nantucket's freshwater ponds. There is an additional match on this fund up to $100,000 thanks to generous contributions from the Gund Family in memory of Lulie Gund.

Give someone the gift that will last forever – the gift of open space.

Do you know anyone who cares for Nantucket as much as you do? A gift membership to the Foundation is a great way to celebrate your common commitment to preserve open spaces and natural habitats for rare and endangered species on the island. Each membership comes with a subscription to the Foundations Newsletters and publications, property map, membership decal and invitations to the Mornings for Members walks in the summer.

Making an Honor or Memorial gift to the Nantucket Conservation's Land Fund is a wonderful and appreciated way to make a gift in honor of someone or commemorate the passing of a loved one, a close friend or an island neighbor. 

The Foundation will promptly inform a family member or friend of your thoughtful gesture, acknowledge your gift to you, and unless otherwise requested, include it in our next Annual Report.

At the time a Honor or Memorial gift is made, we would appreciate being advised to whom our notification should be sent including that person's mailing address. Notifications to an honoree will not include the dollar amount of your gift.

Honor and memorial gifts to the Foundation are a fitting way of honoring someone or celebrating a person's time on earth and sustaining the effort required to preserve Nantucket's remarkable open spaces for all to enjoy.
