Annual Support

As stewards of Nantucket’s unique ecosystems, the Nantucket Conservation Foundation works year-round to protect and conserve over 9,000 acres of land, 100 miles of trails, and 17 miles of protected coastline. We cannot undertake this alone.

We need support from you, our donors, to enable us to continue our mission and fulfill our newly adopted strategic priorities: to responsibly protect Nantucket’s rare and significant natural resources; engage in impactful ecological research; establish cutting edge research partnerships to broaden our understanding and expand opportunities for ecological restoration; and create fulfilling and innovative educational and recreational opportunities. These priorities serve as a road map for us to focus on the impactful role we play in conservation and scientific research on Nantucket and beyond.

Foundation Circle, Conservation Fellows, and Milestone Partners are those members of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, who by their generous, unrestricted annual giving are recognized as a distinctive part of the Foundation's base of support. These multi-year giving programs allow NCF leadership to plan for the future of the organization to ensure our mission and goals are met.

A $250,000 unrestricted gift or a pledge paid over a period of up to five years qualifies donors to the Foundation Circle.

A $125,000 unrestricted gift or a pledge paid over a period of up to five years qualifies donors as Conservation Fellows.

A $50,000 unrestricted gift or a pledge over a period of up to five years qualifies donors as Milestone Partners.

The Colleagues of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation was founded in 1990 to acknowledge those individuals who have demonstrated, through their regular and substantial annual support, a deep commitment to the Foundation’s work. Privileges of Colleague level donors include invitations to special guided events to explore our properties and expand their knowledge about the natural resources they are helping to protect. 

Participation in the Colleagues is open to those who contribute $1,000 or more based on their total giving within a single fiscal year (January 1 - December 31). To become a Colleague level donor or to renew your Colleague level support, please click here.

Supporters of the Trails Fund are those members of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, who by their generous, unrestricted annual giving support the design, creation, and maintenance of more than 45 miles of mountain biking, walking, running, and birding trails, as well as more than 50 miles of sand roads that traverse Foundation properties. A five-year pledge of up to $25,000 or more qualifies donors as members of the Trails Fund.

Supporters of the Lulie Gund Nantucket Ponds Restoration and Maintenance Fund contribute to our work towards improving the water quality of Nantucket's freshwater ponds. There is an additional match on this fund up to $100,000 thanks to generous contributions from the Gund Family in memory of Lulie Gund.

Making an Honor or Memorial gift to the Nantucket Conservation Foundation is a wonderful and appreciated way to make a gift in honor of someone or commemorate the passing of a loved one, a close friend or an island neighbor. 

The Foundation will inform your family member or friend of your thoughtful gesture, acknowledge your gift to you, and unless otherwise requested, include it in our next Annual Report.

At the time a Honor or Memorial gift is made, we would appreciate being advised to whom our notification should be sent including that person's mailing address. Notifications to an honoree will not include the dollar amount of your gift.

Honor and memorial gifts to the Foundation are a fitting way of honoring someone or celebrating a person's time on earth and sustaining the effort required to preserve Nantucket's remarkable open spaces for all to enjoy.
