Focusing on Wellness in 2024

Join our staff for guided bike tours and high-intensity mountain bike rides through conservation property during June, July, and August. These rides showcase the incredible trails of the Middle Moors and the benefit to year-round mountain bikers.

We are pleased to once again offer free community outdoor yoga sessions by Yoga by 11:11 Nantucket Wellness, Ieva Aldins, and Lynne Begier on conservation property. Connect with NCF properties in a special way through All-level Flows and Evening Restorative practices.

All outings in the Wellness Series are free and open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required along with a digital participant waiver. Sign up by clicking the hyperlink of the date you are interesting in attending.

Dates for 2024:

Guided Bike Tour

Join avid cyclist and NCF Trustee Jim Meehan to tour the trails and dirt roads of the Middle Moors or Ram Pasture. Space is limited. Helmet and a mountain bike suitable for rough roads is required.

All Levels Outdoor Yoga Flow

This is a 60 minute class moderately paced with mindful and controlled movement and breath. Emphasis is on lengthening postures and fluid breathing, smooth transitions, and cultivating focus. Class includes a gentle warm-up, 1 brief flow to warm the body, a short series of longer holds, and a relaxing cool-down. The intention is to lengthen muscles, reduce achiness, and decrease tightness in the body. Class is aimed to lengthen and preserve more than strengthen and exhaust.

Outdoor Restorative Yoga

A new offering this year as part of our Wellness series. Drop into this calming and centering practice of restorative yoga immersed in the peaceful setting of our properties. Be guided through the gentle movement, stretching and breathwork of a traditional 60-minute restorative class in open space. Pre-registration required.

Our Yoga Instructors:

Yoga by 1111 is a mid-island yoga studio owned and operated by 1111 Nantucket Wellness LLC.  The studio includes a balance of yoga offerings including Heated Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Restorative & Yin,  and various types of meditation classes including Guided Meditation, Moving Meditation, and Open Meditation. We offer off-site classes around Nantucket and in Boston via various partnerships, typically held on-season in the summer and fall.  Off-site and outdoor classes are all-levels, and taught by one of our senior teachers on staff.

Lynne Begier began her yoga teacher career in 2001 after completing her 1st of many teacher training in August of that year at Kripalu . Shortly thereafter she was pummeled into a new world after the events of 9/11. She was working a corporate job and realized she had so much that she wanted to offer. Her corporate job gave her the confidence to step forward into unknown territory to open a yoga studio. There weren't any yoga studios in Boston that had her vision. She led the team at BBY until she sold the studio in 2015. It became clear that stepping down from this intense leadership role would allow her to grow and expand as a practitioner and teacher. She has spent many years learning under Ana Forrest and Tias Little and also focuses her energy deeply into meditation, sound healing and aromatics. Lynne currently lives on Nantucket with her two furry friends and boyfriend savoring all the beauty and teaching yoga, meditation and sound baths.
