Coastal Resilience – Priorities and Potential Next Steps

Public forum hosted by the Nantucket Civic League.
The first session will feature the recommendations of a student group from Worcester Polytechnic Institute which spent seven weeks on Nantucket studying the issue and interviewing stakeholders.  They also conducted a survey of Madaket homeowners, of whom 172 responded.  

There will also be presentations from Dr. Jennifer Karberg, Nantucket Conservation Foundation; Dr. Sarah Boise, Linda Loring Nature Foundation, Vince Murphy, the Town’s Coastal Resilience Coordinator and Jeff Carlson, Director, Nantucket Natural Resources. Finally, there will be a session on state and federal resources including the USDA’s Natural Resources Preservation Service, MA Coastal Zone Management and the Cape Cod Conservation District.
