- Nantucket’s Nightlife – Northern long-eared Bat Research
January 26, 2019
Nantucket's Nightlife - Northern long-eared Bat Research
Populations of the endangered Northern long-eared bat have been decimated all across New England due to the devastating effects of White-nose Syndrome. On Nantucket, however, our bats seem to be healthy and stable. Join Danielle O’Dell, Ecologist for the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, to learn about the research the Foundation is conducting on Northern long-eared bats on Island. Along the way, you’ll learn some bat natural history, dispel a few common myths and learn what you can do to help protect our bats!
Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 5pm – 6:30pm at the Nantucket Atheneum.
This event is FREE and open to the public.

NCF @ Millie's D.C.!
Join the Nantucket Conservation Foundation and NCF Associates at everyone’s favorite baja-style hotspot in D.C. (with island vibes, of course) – Millie’s Spring Valley!
Learn more about how you can get involved with the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, an island non-profit which currently owns and manages more than a third of Nantucket’s open space (that’s 9,000 acres!). Join us for light bites and a cash bar and find out what role you can play in this well known island non-profit. You will have the opportunity to register for our annual Race for Open Space (https://www.nantucketconservation.org/activities/race-for-open-space/) and to purchase pre-sale tickets for the ‘Bash in the Bog’ gala following the race – both on July 14, 2018.
All are welcome, bring friends along and join the fun!
