This approximately 3.5 mile walk showcases the eastern moors and explores a fascinating part of the island that receives few visitors. There are good views of the Milestone Cranberry Bog, Sankaty Light and the surrounding glacial moraine. We will tour both open moorlands as well as the wooded areas around Almanac Pond. Participants will get a real feel for the character of the moors’ beauty and a sense of the vastness of this part of the Island.
